Online Media Shaping India’S Future

In today’s scenario, internet is driving business growth. Almost every sector today is considered incomplete without online presence. Following the trend, media organizations have also spread their online presence extensively.

The online media presence has highly influenced the young generation and had changed their ways of getting news every day. The old forms of media that were used by our forefathers understand their way of living; however, for knowing and understanding the modern world, technological advancements is necessary.
From carved stories on the walls, books and newspapers, to electronic media- the past has witnessed the evolution of media.

Newspapers and Televisions are undoubtedly doing remarkable job in providing social, political, crime technology and other news to the masses. But, online media has successfully carved its niche in the society. It not only provides instant updates to the readers but also connects well with the audience.
Online media portals are appealing, not just to writers and publishers, but also to the readers. Also, there were speculations that online media could mark the end of print media mainly because of the factors that reading news online is cheap, if not free. Online news can be easily accessed by anyone through their laptops, Smartphone’s tablets etc.

With online media, instant reading and sharing of information is possible. Moreover, publishing news online is easy and can be done with few simple clicks and that too in an attractive layout. It saves time, resources and additional cost spent.

The media is a vast industry. Newspapers, in particular, represent some of the oldest and most respected companies but Internet is a unique platform that has delivered not just scientific innovations but has changed the trend so far.

It has changed nearly everything from culture to rivalry. Internet has also altered the economies of media in two important ways. First, it allows unlimited distribution of content for little or no cost. Second, it has potentially put everyone on the globe into the media business.

Search giants, such as Yahoo!, MSN and Google, continue their expansion into the news business. Even the other websites like free classifieds have also expanded themselves globally.

Eying the present scenario, it can be believed that in the coming years, internet will raise high on the minds of people. Not only the younger crowd but the middle aged audience would also prefer reading news online while being at office, home or in the car.
